Interrompo anzitempo le vacanze “dall’etereo e digitale” solo per una notizia, via The Web Standards Project, che merita questo e ben altri sfarzi e lustrini:

Si! Avete capito bene: A List Apart | For people who make websites, la straordinaria eZine realizzata da Jeffrey Zeldman e la sua WebAgency, Happy Cog Studios, nel 1999, con lo scopo di educare agli standard web che a quei tempi erano poco più che delle leggende, si è rifatta il look.

Dall’articolo di presentazione su ALA dello stesso Zeldman, che presenta il nuovo design, si scopre che non si tratta di un semplice redesign ma di un completo “branding system” ad opera di Jason Santa Maria, che adoro:

For ALA 4.0, Jason Santa Maria created not merely a new logo and layout but an entire branding system…

Il tutto condito dal sapere sui CSS di Eric Meyer e dalle illustrazioni di Kevin Cornell:

Il CMS, made Ruby on Rails, che spopola sempre di più, è opera di Dan Benjamin e il passaggio da ALA 3.0 ad ALA 4.0, che ha visto la migrazione da DBMS Microsoft SQL a MySQL, è stato possibile grazie al lavoro di Damon Clinkscales ed alla supervisione di Brian Alvey.

ALA’s new publishing system, a carefully crafted Ruby on Rails application custom designed by Dan Benjamin… …Mr Damon Clinkscales supervised the migration of legacy content from ALA 3.0’s Microsoft SQL database to ALA 4.0’s MySQL… …Mr Brian Alvey was perpetually helpful and patient as we toiled and tinkered…

Infine Zeldman ricorda che la pubblicazione del magazine avverrà di martedì, e specifica “Not every Tuesday – just when we have something fabulous to share”, per opera sua e di Erin Kissane, che ci aiuteranno a districarci nell’enorme oceano dello sviluppo web
